Volume Up to 11: Breaking the Corporate Mold at Workday Rising
"We didn't just design a booth; we staged a world tour for a brand that was tired of playing the background."
The Corporate Feedback Loop
In 2019, Collaborative Solutions was a small fish in a big pond in the world of Workday consultants. While the firm was firmly established for doing quality work with high customer satisfaction, it wanted to start expanding the size of its winning contracts while still leaning into the messages of being boutique, rebellious and just different from the bigger corporate names of companies it was now competing against, and the Workday Rising conference and its booth expo was the event to stand out from the standard blue and white designed booths of the big companies.
Turning the Volume Up to 11
Rather than mimicking the "polished corporate" look of competitors, we leaned into the founders’ roots as rock musicians. We positioned Collaborative Solutions not as another vendor, but as the "roadies and rockstars" of Digital Transformation.
We traded sterile white backdrops for a "backstage club" aesthetic. By remixing the corporate palette with high-octane neon greens and purples against smoky grays, we created a sensory experience — from the Rock Band gaming station to the neon-lit customer appreciation party.
A Platinum Record Performance
Collaborative Solutions was lauded by the Workday Rising team for “most fun” booth. The firm achieved its goal of 225 new leads. Eventually, I was awarded an internal Collabie Award at the end of 2019 for the work done.
